#200 SH Fixed Panel Replacement

Tools Needed: Putty Knife, Pruning Shears, Caulking Gun and Clear Silicon.

  1. Remove the glazing bead around the inside of the glass. To do this, insert your putty knife in the crack where the glazing bead meets the frame at one of the ends (see illustration A). After you have pulled away one end of the glazing bead, continue pulling out the entire bead. The bead must be installed the same way.
  2. After all glazing bead is removed go to the outside of the window. Insert the putty knife between the glass and the window frame. Slide the knife all the way around the frame in order to break the silicone seal. After you have done this the glass should push out toward the interior of the house.

  3. Back inside the house, remove all the existing silicone. You should not have any lumps or build up of old silicone left in the frame.

  4. Put a liberal bead of new silicon around the perimeter of the frame where the glass will lay.

  5. Put the new glass panel in place and install the glazing bead. New bead has been provided and may need to be cut to the proper length. Install the width pieces first and then the heights.

Note: For proper installation of all four glazing bead sections, Leg A (as shown in illustration) of glazing bead must fit in designated channel.
